On the 28th April 2018 a group of hardy employees from Building Product Design and its subsidiaries (and dog!) took part in the monstrous journey up Mount Snowdon. A distance of 9 miles up the 1,085 metre high giant was covered. Some were very fast, some took “little baby steps” to get to the top, but it didn’t matter. There were a few minor injuries, but no tears and overall it was a great, successful day! Everyone really enjoyed themselves, especially once they had reached the summit knowing the ascent had ended! Additionally, receiving the gold SV200 soffit vent medals at the peak really put the cherry on top of everyone’s day.
The treacherous walk was all in aid of supporting the campaign to raise funds for research into CLN5 Batten Disease. This is a rare but fatal condition that devastates families and in most cases results in death prior to teenage years. The Batten Disease Family Association (BDFA) will really benefit from an amazing £3930, which also includes money from the World Cup sweepstake. Over 100 donations were given for the Snowdon walk, so thanks to everyone who supported this very worthwhile charity.
